"The Christmas Angel: A Tale of Redemption" by S. Tilghman Hawthorne - IHIBRP 5-Star Book Review

A Perfect Feel-Good Read To Add To Your Holiday Collection!

Overview: The magic of the holidays is needed to restore a vital family relationship as one sister prays that all will turn out well for the other in time for Christmas.

It is remarkable that S. Tilghman Hawthorne’s “The Christmas Angel” is able to communicate, in just eleven short pages, the depth of emotion that it does as this simple yet charming story takes the reader from heart-wrenching pain and sorrow to a surprising discovery that heralds hope for a brighter future. Hawthorne’s characters are realistic and their anguish is relatable as they live out a story about the loss of family and the horrible impact that loss has had during the holiday season.

Getting through the holidays is a common theme that many individuals must deal with when suffering from a great personal tragedy or loss. Hawthorne’s main character, Julie, relates to those individuals who just can’t seem to overcome the feeling of being abandoned by their loved ones who have unexpectedly passed on—particularly during formerly celebrated family fetes and the holiday season. Julie is an amicable yet tragic character who finds hope and redemption in a simple and memorable gift from a loved one who still seems to be calling out to her from the afterlife. It is a heartwarming and inspiring story.

The overall message of Hawthorne’s quick tale is that miracles do happen and no one is ever truly left behind. Those looking for a perfect feel-good read to add to their holiday shorts collection should definitely consider “The Christmas Angel”. I recommend this inspirational holiday story for anyone ages 13 and up.
