“The Witch’s Touch” by Rosie Wylor-Owen - IHIBRP 5-Star Book Review

A Fantastic Blend Of Magic & Justice!

Even as two detectives struggle to investigate the sudden disappearance of certain hardened criminals that they failed to get convicted, Amanda and her partner Leona are enjoying the sense of retribution their magic delivers. When Detective Meeks’ suspicions arise, he takes note of the pair’s involvement with the criminals who he and his partner intend to pursue, causing Amanda and Leona to face the ultimate danger: exposure.

Wylor-Owen pens a suspenseful yet subtly humorous occult urban fantasy tale where Magic meets Justice in her short-story, “The Witch’s Touch”. This detective-meets-paranormal tale is so well-written and intriguing, it begs the author to write a collection of similar stories for the enjoyment of her readers. The plot line is well-paced, with plenty of surprises revealed in a laid-back, matter-of-fact style, while the framing of the characters’ lives and personalities is quite apt and adept.

In “The Witch’s Touch”, Wylor-Owen creates a scenario in which fantasy breaks through the bounds of reality, allowing readers to savor every moment of pursuit and macabre discovery as the detectives see their intended prey finally receive justice under the terms of Amanda and Leona’s special brand of magic.

For fans of the supernatural and detective novels alike, “The Witch’s Touch” is a great evening read or weekend take-along novel. Masterfully written and highly unique, I highly recommend this short story for ages 15 and up.

Congratulations to the author on this award-winning story! This novel will be permanently featured on my website at under IHIBRP 5 Star Recommended Reads!
