An Enchantingly Dark and Imaginative Fantasy Adventure!

Her writing envelops the reader from the very start of the novel as we follow Kitty Fairlow on a mission to save her world from magical beings poised to conquer it. The medieval style settings and characters harken back to our own medieval days of chivalry, but you’ll find no men kowtowing to women here. These knights in shining armor—male and female—surrender their lives equally in order to serve and protect their world.
MacLeod’s characters are strong and powerful, and her lead, Kitty, is self-assured and loyal to the cause despite her own inner conflicts with self-esteem and doubt. The cast of characters that populate this read and the mythos that drives them is convincing, and even the otherworldly entities seem threatening enough to take seriously. As a result, it’s not hard to imagine one’s self as part of this world, rallying to its defense alongside MacLeod’s superheroes—The Constellations.
Brilliantly conceived, with the created mythology of The Constellations upholding the mythology of this story, and engagingly told, “Heirs of Power” is a fantasy adventure lover’s dream.
