A Sweeping Fantasy Adventure That Soars!
SK Wee’s idyllic fantasy world from her Spectrum Of Color Series continues to expand as she turns myths into reality and incorporates new characters from long-forgotten races and faraway lands. “Dragonkin” introduces Lord Pol, the single survivor of an ancient race of dragon-shifters once thought to be extinct. His sudden return, after a lengthy self-imposed exile, heralds a brand new age and directly impacts Mandalay’s ruling family.
In “Dragonkin”, Wee weaves a plotline that is driven by relationships. As the elder generations work to seal and strengthen political and strategic bonds, their children and friends, who are now entering adulthood, are forming bonds of their own, making lasting friendships, alliances, choosing possible mates, and falling in love. All this is wonderfully complimented by the circle of life in which the old generation makes way for the new and the young assume their forebears’ duties and responsibilities.
Wee’s characters are fully-fleshed with elaborate backgrounds and inter-connected relationships that drive this story forward well. The author’s ability to draw the reader into the story ensures a great read. In “Dragonkin”, readers will find more than one character that will pique their interest and provide lasting memories of their experiences—Besides, who wouldn’t want to learn how to use magic or be a dragon?
SK Wee’s “Dragonkin”, the second book of the Whispers From Beyond Series, expands on events that occurred in her Spectrum Of Color Series. It is an exciting and unique new perspective of the many races of humans—magically gifted and otherwise, elves, dwarves, and shifters referenced in her prior works. Although “Dragonkin” may be read as a stand-alone novel, I highly recommend reading the Spectrum Of Color Series and “Dancing Through Dreams: Book One of the Whispers From Beyond Series” in order to get your bearings and receive the most insight and enjoyment from this particular work. “Dragonkin” does contain adult situations, moderate violence, sexual situations, and depictions of slavery, and so I recommend this book for adults and young adults—ages 17 and up.
Congratulations to the author on this award-winning story! This novel will be permanently featured on my website at AuthorJBRichards.com under IHIBRP 5 Star Recommended Reads!
