One Nail-Biting Heist—Not to Mention Life-Threatening Situation—After Another!
Action, excitement, thrills, chills, hidden agendas, magic, suspense … and even a little behind-the-scenes romance ... “Playing with Fire” is (and here’s the good news) only the opener for the Meyers’ planned novel series, “Criminal Elements”, leading their pack in edge-of-your-seat thrillers off to a great start. Brilliantly cast, with characters of dimension and “Talent” (I use the word “Talent” in reference to what the authors call their protagonists who possess a particular skill-set of supernatural abilities.), the Meyers’ seamlessly blend together a powerfully driven story that will prompt any reader to want to role-play right alongside Stone, Renee, Rook, Grace, and Medium as this team of professional paranormal thieves is guided through one nail-biting heist—not to mention one life-threatening situation—after another. Through it all, the protagonists’ secondary goal is to catch up to their common arch-enemy and dole out some good old-fashioned payback.
“Playing with Fire” captured my attention the moment I started reading this fast-paced novel, and even though I was forced to confine my reading to the short breaks I sometimes get during my work day, I yearned for the time to simply sit down in a quiet space and savor this exciting paranormal thriller as I would a delicious hot fudge sundae. This novel has all the earmarks fans look for in a paranormal mystery suspense thriller and satisfies each of those qualifiers fully. If ever there was a “Mission Impossible”, I have no doubt that the writing team of Cris and Clare Meyers would rise to meet the challenge. These Indie authors are here for the long haul … Hopefully with a long, long line of “Criminal Elements” novels waiting in the wings.
