"Family Binds (The Journey Missions Book 2)" by Holly Ash - IHIBRP 5-Star Book Review

A High-Octane Sci-Fi Dystopian Thriller In Which Nothing Is As It Seems!

Overview: For the first time in her career, Lieutenant Commander Crystal Wolf is emotionally compromised after a routine rescue mission goes horribly wrong. With the Commander gone, Lieutenant Desiree Flint must put her own prejudices aside and lead an investigation into the sabotage. With Desi in way over her head, will Crystal set aside the betrayal, pain, and chaos of a compromised past in time to stop the destruction of Stapleton Farms and a possible war?

From the very first chapter of “Family Binds”, Author Holly Ash pens an action-packed dystopian thriller that vividly contrasts a military officer’s career against her personal life. The author throws roadblocks aplenty as her two fierce female warriors, Crystal and Desi (from the first chapter of her Journey Missions Series), investigate who could be responsible for compromising the safety of an underwater farming colony, resolve key personal issues from the past, and prevent a critical political war in the making.

Emotions run high in this high octane thriller as Crystal’s past is brilliantly rewritten before her very eyes and Desi is placed in the unenviable position of being in charge of an impossible mission—one she may not be ready to lead. As bombshells drop about her past, colonists encourage an independence rebellion, and top-secret plots within the highest levels of government are exposed, Crystal begins to believe her entire past was a hoax, and it is the people she trusted the most—her own family members—who may have betrayed her and worked toward undermining their world’s tenuous peace.

“Family Binds” contains adult situations and violence. Readers will savor this story for its constant and consistent revelations, as well as its stirring plotline. I highly recommend this riveting read for anyone, ages 17 and up, who loves Dystopian Sci-Fi Fantasy with strong female leads.

Congratulations to the author on this award-winning story! This novel will be permanently featured on my website at AuthorJBRichards.com under IHIBRP 5 Star Recommended Reads!
